Weekday Weddings

Weddings Trends

Getting married during the week may once have seemed out of the norm, but now there are countless perks associated with tying the knot on a Tuesday afternoon.

Carrying from 2020 into 2021, weekday weddings are becoming an alternative choice that more couples are opting for. As couples are navigating covid wedding planning, they’re finding weekends available for booking are virtually nonexistent for at least a year. Being eager to wed, they’re opting for weekday celebrations and finding they make a great compromise to accommodate many of their original celebrating desires. Getting married on a Monday has allowed couples to secure their dream venue and vendors, all while being a bit more budget-friendly. It’s likely your favorite venue will have availability during the week while their weekends are booked through 2022, along with your top photographer and floral designer. (Keep in mind to inquire with all of your preferred vendors about their weekday availability.)

Choosing a day close to the weekend that doesn’t fall on the weekend, like a Thursday, gives you more time to spend with your guests if they choose to come and spend the weekend near your nuptials. You’ll have the full weekend to share creating special memories that transcend your wedding day alone. With everything we’ve endured in 2020, this time to socialize and reconnect may be the perfect recipe for love.

Weekday weddings may not be the perfect match for every couple, but if you’re eager to book and open to the possibilities of a non-traditional day of celebration – some additional pros of a weekday wedding are less expensive travel fees, a more intimate and relaxed atmosphere with an intimate celebration style. Some potential cons may be lower attendance, potential for unavailable vendors, and potential for the festivities to end earlier. There are pros and cons no matter which day you choose to celebrate your wedding. The best plan is to focus on your priorities with your partner and establish what your primary desires are for the day. Opting for a lowkey weekday wedding may just be the perfect fit for you!
